People, a while ago we said it would be a good idea to announce new
projects to give people a crack at signing up and for general information.
Here's one that needs an I/T person.
Soon a Discovery Project, sponsored by the Management Reporting Team, will
be chartered to recommend a solution on how to give MIT Internal Providers
(E.G. Copy Centers, Audio Visual, MITAC, Endicott House, I/S and maybe a
dozen others) a consistent way to both pass data to SAP (the "back end")
and to receive data ("orders") from the customers via a common "front end".
The customer ordering scheme should be integrated with existing and planned
web-based purchasing channels.
This should be an interesting project, one that could spawn several
Delivery projects for the providers. It presents an opportunity to
re-architect and improve our internal ordering both for the end users and
the providers. If this is an area in which you would like to participate,
please let Greg Anderson or me know.
Cheers, Bob
