This month's accomplishments (February, 2003)
=B7 Begin implementation of EHS in the Data Warehouse.
=B7 Analyze EHS training data.
=B7 Continued work with the Project Intersections Team..
=B7 Continue work on SAP/HR.
=B7 Verify the HR Conceptual data model(s).
=B7 Continue converting Brio 5 web reports to Brio 6 for April=
roll-out.
=B7 Work with training & Pubs to identify and define new Brio 6=
Classes.
=B7 Researching and testing several theories on increasing performance=

by moving the data files from one volume to another.
=B7 Investigated and resolved several database issues (segmentation,=

two task problems, rollback segment problems, storage problems
=B7 Moved the temporary data files from one volume to another in=20
preparation for ASST to split 1 large data volume two.
=B7 Analyzed and loaded the master project history detail=20
data. Currently being tested by CAO.
=B7 Worked with SSIT to load "degree candidate" records (i.e. students=

who have applied for a degree for the upcoming academic term) to the Data=20
Warehouse. Wrote up a detail specification for implementation in the=20
Warehouse in March.
=B7 Loaded data about non-enrolled students and what Institution they=
=20
attended for graduate admissions. Created sample report for the Admissions=
=20
Office to query the data.
Loaded 9500 employee pictures (as BLOB, Binary Large Object) from MIT Card=
=20
Office to the test database. Set up an view for Giri S. to develop the web=
=20
application to display the pictures.
=B7 Loaded employment information (SIC or Standard Industrial Code and=
=20
Occupation codes) from Alumni to Data Warehouse. Created an=20
ALUMNI_BY_COURSE table which contains all alumni's biographic, address,=20
degree, and employment information (one record per person), with access=20
controlled by Course of Major (i.e. Department) for general user access.
=B7 Continue preparation for three Library classes - one for "button=
=20
pushers," two longer classes for financial and non-financial people=20
(acquisitions and catalog people). First class may happen by end of=20
February, if so may also add Library queries to web page -- the basic set=20
of queries is almost final, Joan was to show them to everyone last week and=
=20
then fine-tune, and discuss with me if she needed help with anything. She=20
is supposed to give me specs for the classes this week-- what queries=20
people want for each class,

o Delivered 2-day Data Warehouse training class for AAUDE at AIR Conference=

in Orlando.
o Created a table layout for storing documentations and footnotes regarding=

questions regarding faculty teaching loads.
=B7 Change Web Hits processing procedure to include a new web browser=20
(Mozilla) and a couple of new browser versions for Netscape in Web Hits=20
reporting. Create 4 dimension tables for the Web Hits Star/Data Model,=20
currently limits are done on the fact table.

o Analyze the data in the University of Delaware=
Repository.
o Analyze "Faculty Count" and "Tuition and Fees"
=B7 Finish converting Brio 5 reports to Brio 6.

budget vs actual with both the base and non base budgets rather than total=
