Accomplishments past period:

- Finalized TSM user migration notice and send to TSM user community.
Updated TSM web page with user announcement and added tentative
schedule.
- Regarding policy for customer followup during user migration periods
and unreachable TSM subscribers:
We decided that in addition to the migration notices planned to be
sent to all subscribers ahead of the migration window, the TSM Systems
group will send weekly reminder mail during the migration window to
all users that have not yet migrated. Additionally we'll need to
come up with an educated guess as to how much followup is expected
for users that do not repond via email. The Help Desk may be able to
get some temporary help during this migration period. We are
following up on this option.
- Started work on IS newsletter article.
- Defined user transition script requirements, started writing
initial scripts.
- Completed hardware and software documentation for Sun Servers,
SAN/switches, 3494 tape library an the IBM ESS.
- Tested the various hardware components within the SAN environment, ie:
Sun server access to disk and tape drives.
- Sharing the IBM ESS between the mainframe and UNIX servers required
cross platform documentation to be written for powerup/powerdown
of IBM ESS. Formalized and documented DOST procedures regarding
ESS 'call home' issues which includes contacting both ASST and VMSST.
- DOST documentation and training started for ESS console access.

- Install TSM on Sun server(s).
- Configure and test hardware within TSM application.
- Test basic application functionality
- Test import/export capabilities
- Begin migration of TSM VM data to IBM ESS

- Plan and prepare TSM Athena scripts/documentation.
- Continue work on IS newsletter article.
