Accomplishments past period:

- ESCON adapters for mainframe connectivity installed in IBM ESS.
- Sun servers and SAN switches installed.
- Reviewed details and scheduled phase one of 3494 ATL upgrade with
IBM.
- Met with IBM reps and completed IBM ESS System Assurance.
- Refined TSM Migration Support Plan. Created draft of TSM User
migration notice.
- Met with Pioneer reps to discuss next steps in the SAN design and
implementation. Scheduled a followup session to discuss details of
the SAN design and configuration of the IBM ESS.
Milestones completed

- SAN hardware (IBM ESS and switches) installed
Ongoing issues:
--------------
- Need to decide on policy for unreachable TSM subscribers during user
migration periods.
- Who will deal with customer followup issues during user migration?
Help Desk does not have enough EFT to do this.
Goals for next month:
---------------------
- Install and configure OS on all TSM SUN servers.
- Complete Phase 1 of 3494 tape library upgrade. Includes conversion of
3590 drive to fiber attach, drive relocation, frame modification and cation
network connectivity.
- Connect and configure VM mainframe storage on ESS.
- Finalize SAN design and implement SAN configuration. Participate in
SAN skills transfer with IBM Business Partner.
- Finalize TSM user migration plan, TSM user migration notice.
Additional comments:
- Sun Server rack mount kits for V480's seem flimsy. May need to get SUN
reps in to inspect.
