Sounds like something the gun mags have been yelling about. Something about making concealed carry, even with permit, more troublesome as the cop across the street can see the gun and then has to ask for the permit. What I read about the device I'm describing, from an old popular science, is a hand held device, looking like a camcorder. It picks up the natural e-m transmissions of the human body, which things like guns block, creating a silouette. I'm not fully convinced that I got the whole details as to how it works. But this looks like a bulky videocamera. I don't know what an x-ray scanner looks like.
