Customs Unveils Body Search Machine - (LOS ANGELES) --
U-S Customs officials have unveiled a new body search
machine at Los Angeles International Airport. They
promise it
will root out contraband without subjecting
travelers to a
personal search. Commissioner Robert Kelly says the
X-Ray-like body scanner is supposed to make
searches less
invasive. A person stands against a wall while the
machine
takes a picture that reveals what he or she may be
concealing.
Agents must still use their training to determine
who should be
singled out.
