Lately there has been something of a to-do in the popular internet press about
the Echelon system -- old, stale news to anyone who has tracked this list for
any length of time.
However, there's now something of a push for a coordinated effort to spam the
Echelon system, starting on Thursday the 21st. It's being organized by some
patriot type in one of the flyover states, and the sample list of Echelon bait
being suggested is at once dull and humorless, plus it includes search terms
that suggest paranoia of the less-than-sensible variety.
Ghost memory time: It seems to me that some of the old timers on this list
used to include pithy lists of Echelon bait in their .sig files, way back
several years ago. I've searched the archives, but apparently I've done an
incompetant job because I can't find the .sigs in question. My memory,
though, is that there were a couple of short, pithy, funny, and
effective-looking Echelon-bait lists floating around.
Anybody else remember this? Better yet, anybody else still have some good
Echelon-bait kicking around on the ole hard drive to share?
