the 19 NATO member countries include France.

Yeah right. So much for what you know about NATO and France...
France's relationship with NATO has always been an adversarial one. They have
steadfastly refused to join the joint military command. I forwarded a recent
piece on this to the list. Keep an eye out for it.
Your assertion is misleading. Especialy within the context I was using it
which refers to the paranoia between the major European countries.
