Jim Choate dared to innocently ask what will happen when the
Bad Boys roar up the drive screaming for his ISP-box to "freeze,
motherfucker:"

What the G8 panickers are aiming for is a method to lay
claim to all the records and data of access points and ISPs
around the globe which may have been used as links in the
trail of a criminal action, not unlike the broadscope grounds
for seizure and forfeiture criticized here yesterday in testimony
by the Cato attorney.

Since this tracking of a transaction from country to country
takes a fair amount of time, they want to be able to freeze
and preserve data on linked ISPs as it is identified by hops,
then, in accord with the laws of the nation of ISP location, seek
a court order for access and evaluation.

As with forfeiture the ISP does not have to be guilty of a crime,
but the hopping data in its machines is evidence.

Presumably, as with forfeiture, trace data will be charged, arrested,
tried and seized for resale as FLETC videos to pay for more training
of cyber-sleuths and -prosecutors.

What did the IRS thieves get for CJ's pickup and computer?

Like CJ's trusted implements your box is destined, Jim, to betray
you and your waning Constitutional force field: "He rlogin-ed me
to do it, here's his passphrase."
