What's scary is that the 900 MHz and even the 2.4GHz frequencies
are no longer some high-speed carrier that you modulate a signal onto.
They're pretty close to the operating frequency of the computer :-)
Sure, most new Pentia are 450MHz, but that means that only one or two
revs down the road you'll be able to pull a 900MHz signal right off the bus.

Actually, with 32-bit busses, 900MHz really only requires 30 MHz CPUs,
so it's been possible for a decade, but now you've got to make sure
the computer doesn't act like a radio _without_ adding hardware...

You can already pull a 900MHz off a 300 or 450, it's the third and second
harmonic respectively. Probably not strong enough to do anything over 15 to
20 feet (excluding Van Eck).

The real concern I have with the new high clock speeds is the health threat
and potential resultant government regulation about computer construction.
If you have a machine running at 1GHz or above and the case is off you could
get a nasty RF burn. When the fist microwaves came out there was serious
leakage around the seals and doors. As a result a whole host of regulations
and laws resulted. The same will happen on these computers.

Personaly, I want one that has a sandwich warmer slot on the front so I
don't have to take the case off. Hmmm, I wonder if those removable drive
bays might not work...
