Greed is *BAD*, desire is good. When one wants simply for the same of
wanting or because it makes some fundamental statement of their human worth
in relation to others it is greed and greed is worthless. Not only is it
selfish, it's self consuming as well.
As to environmentalist buying property, check out the Nature Conservancy.
Great bunch of folks who do just that.
