Of course, 100 years ago, there were no massive government programs
training thousands of people in the care and feeding of such bugs.
Nor were people paid by the hundreds to think about how to most
effectively use them, design delivery systems, model population
effects, etc.
All the things that turn a minor problem into a serious threat. Not
to mention the fact that these folks now need to justify their jobs.
