Ever since Reliable 1.0.1 was released, a lot of abuse and condemnation of
Reliable remailers has arisen, including posters condemning them as insecure
with no real facts or discernable trigger, and generating more than the usual
paranoia about Windows. I also received a rude message within a day of the
announcement from someone rather heated over the Encrypt-CAST/3DES support,
basically filled with what immediately seemed like disinformation and
attempting to convince me that the inclusion of these algorithms was a
security threat because "there's no proof" they work. It struck me as very
odd. I get a lot of feedback but this was certainly an unusual example in
several respects.
The NSA has been rather loud (for the NSA) about voicing its disapproval of
3DES export, and the algorithm is preferred in a lot of circles, at least
according to the link below. It makes me wonder if the ekx support in
Reliable 1.0.1 touched a nerve somewhere. It seems to be pure hell trying to
get the test messages through. This especially concerns me when they are
wrapped in IDEA, because how can someone know the 3DES is beneath the IDEA?
Unless they can PK decrypt the remail request. The more I vary features in
the remailer system the more I stumble upon disturbing incongruencies. I may
have to become paranoid if this keeps up. It's a bit like replacing a piece
of paneling and discovering termites have been devouring the structure.

FYI "Jo", as I understand it once you monitor and filter content you become
legally accountable for said content. It is probably not a wise solution,
for you or for the general integrity of remailers.
