The Senate Transportation Appropriations contains language repealing Section
656 (b) of the 1996 Immigration Act, which established the National ID card.
If this language is in the House-Senate conference that comes out of the
House, the attempt to turn drivers' licenses into a national ID card will be
dead!
People who contact their conferees should ask them to make sure the
conference report has the Senate's 656 (b) repeal language.
