The way I read it, there was an FBI agent on IRC actually posing as a 13 year
old girl. No encryption would hav mattered because he was actually talking
to the FBI agent, not a real 13 year old. ie. there was no wiretapping going
on. The issue remains whether this is entrapment, but that isn't really
something for this list.
