Dear People of Chaos
There is tonnes of exciting news this week . . . ChaosMusic has merged
with one of Australia's most successful 'bricks and mortar' music
retailers Gaslight Records, teamed up with V2 Records to launch Michael
Hutchence new single 'A Straight Line' and graced the Country Music
Association luncheon at Star City last Friday.
CHAOSMUSIC CLICKS INTO BRICKS AND MORTOR MUSIC RETAIL
ChaosMusic has announced plans to acquire Melbourne based
retailer 'Gaslight Music' one of Australia's most successful
independent music retailers of the last 25 years. The resulting
partnership, will create a synergy between the world of online music
and the traditional business of retail, bringing together the best
selection of commercial and independent music to consumers across the
world, promoting local artists through traditional means and across the
Internet.
The acquisition will expand ChaosMusic's catalogue extensively to over
700,000 products on CDs, vinyl, videos, cassettes and other recorded
formats as well as digital downloads. It will also increase the amount
of product we fulfil locally.
Jeff Harrison, owner of Gaslight & Chairman of the Australian Music
Retailers Association (AMRA), will assume the role of Chief Operating
Officer and a position on the ChaosMusic board.
