Similar to a variant of the above, which I thought up a while back,
and might hack up at some point:
Create a pop3 and smtp proxy which creates a PGP key for it's users
and encrypts with their chosen pop3 password. However it does not
keep the password, but decrypts and forwards mail whenever they use
the pop3 server. when mail arrives via smtp encrypt it with users
public key.
For people who care about security allow them to provide their own
public key, and for the system to forward it to them still encrypted.
Obviously not that secure, but similar to ziplib and probably easier
to use.

Surely www.geocities.com or any other free website provider would be
an easier way to achieve this -- just set it up via freedom.
