What do you mean by the "period of the list"?

Guess that you mean something about the "average lifetime of posters," that
is a better description: lifetime. Well-established in the physical
sciences and population/sociology fields.

If you mean the age of the list, as another definition of "period," then of
course it is about 7 years.

As to "oldest and newest posts by a given person," everyone should bear in
mind that e-mail addresses change frequently.
