I'm currently running the final index of the cypherpunks archives; I
believe it will be done at about 1800 GMT on 7 September.
(The main use for these archives, IMO, is to challenge some particularly
bogus patents out there. Prior art due to cypherpunks mailing list seems
like it should invalidate a lot of annoying patents.)
The URL of the archives is http://cypherpunks.venona.com/
To view a given month, go to http://cypherpunks.venona.com/YYYY/MM/index.html
where YYYY is the 4-digit year and MM is the 2 month date (no y2k problem
there...)
I have a search engine for each month. I will be implementing a global
search later, but for now, you can do pretty effective searching by month.
To buy a cdrom, email cdrom@venona.com. I got delayed in picking up a
CD-R, so there are no actual disks yet. I'll try to buy one this week
and thus can have finished CDs by next week. Price is USD$ 100 or
preferably 10 grams of e-gold (a discount for e-gold).
Some notes:
* People seem to have used really broken mailers at various points. RFC 822
compliance is a Good Thing (tm)
* No guarantees about completeness, security, etc.; a full legal statement
if you wish to use these archives in court will be posted
* Please don't auto-mirror from the web or anything like that. I'll be
excluding robots soon. If the load on the machine exceeds what I don't
notice, I will throttle the bandwidth available to the archives and
blackholeroute offending IP addresses.
* Enjoy
Thanks,
Ryan
