Even if banks were not wholly creatures of the state, it would still
be an stupid idea to base internet money on them, as if the Wright
brothers had gone to the railways for funding.

Since banking is a government enforced cartel, going to the banks to
introduce internet money is like teaching crocodiles vegetarianism
