  TECHNOFILE

  BUGS IN YOUR HAIR

Good news for actors, eavesdroppers and bat researchers. Emkay of Burgess
Hill in West Sussex claims to have developed the world's smallest
broadcast-quality microphone. A pressure sensor and field-effect transistor
amplifier are packed into a 2.5-millimetre cylinder. It is easily hidden in
an actor's hair, or could be used as a bug. The mike also records
ultrasound, from bats, for example.
