Yes. They are such useful idiots! I fully realize that in a free-market,
the compensation of employees must obey the law of supply and demand.
Apparently there is a greater demand for loan officers than IS admins. This
is another reason why I am no longer there. I discovered that I was worth
more as a consultant than as a highly skilled gopher.
I laugh also. I also regret the years wasted at these menial jobs while
passing up more lucrative work because I needed the security. I did,
however, perfect my trade and I learned well the needs of businesses which
now pay me 3 times what I made at the bank. I do not begrudge the highly
paid idiots, they apparently have some valuable skill. Just because in all
my years of observing them, I was unable to discern just what they were
being paid for, doesn't mean they weren't doing something valuable for
their grossly inflated paychecks.
I admire your frankness and yes I am bitter, but I fully realize that the
world doesn't give a crap about my notion of self-worth. A rational being
will seek to improve himself by making himself more valuable to those he
seeks to sell his services to. I strive to do this but I also reserve the
right to then bitch and moan about the injustice of the free market. Is it
FAIR? HELL NO! It isn't fair. But life has never been fair. Life is short
and a brutal death is the fate of most people. I am truly fortunate to have
lived this long and come this far.
Sorry, I tend to was philosophical sometimes.
