That's from the USENIX Computer Security Symposium last week in DC. It's
troubling that one has to read well into the article before proper credit
is given to the USENIX Association for providing the venue.

The usability issue has been visited before. Don Davis presented a
similar paper at the USENIX Computer Security Symposium a few years ago
(either Salt Lake City or San Jose) where he basically said that
encryption is still too hard for the average user to use correctly. His
paper still makes a lot of sense.

I was on the program committee and I was session chair when Dirk Balfanz
and Ed Felten presented their paper on graphical passwords. It's a neat
idea and a good paper -- Balfanz received the best paper award.

Oh, and the hotel was charging only US$8.00 per day, not US$10.00 as the
Wired Magazine article alleges. I think it's a good idea, but I couldn't
ever get mine working. Maybe it was the GUI... :-)
