Re: msgs here, there and almost everywhere about a "WA Telecom Competition
Act" that existeth not at all; the fairly extensive propagation of info about
this non-bill, and equally fairly extensive comment about this empheron, leads
to a weird distortion of proportion.
I don't think this critter's gonna be introduced at all. If it is, I don't
think it would get a hearing. And re: vague references to maybe doing it as a
House amendment, I don't think that will happen; or if it does, that this
stuff would survive.
So it comes down to lots of energy, lots of time, lots of smoke--but no fire:
all dressed up, and nowhere to go--and, nowhere it probably ought to go for
now.
It's really become one heck of a distraction from dealing with live proposed
legislation that really does need attention; and this situation seems to have
become a problematic one. Energy, time, etc. tied up with this non-measure
would--and should--be better spent re: live legislative proposals. But in the
meantime, with posts on a number of newsgroups and mail-lists, what we're
getting is a WA State embarassment on a national scale.
How about a little resource redeployment now?
