Although interesting (and even encouraging) I guess I don't find the
TV networks et al discovering e-mail as technologically shocking.
Nothing new there other than a behavioral change.

There's still a bit of distance to cover between NBC (&c) getting a
non-IP e-mail address and some of the things showing up in these
information superhighway advertisements. Getting an AOL mailbox
doesn't take a whole lot of technological innovation last I checked.
