Those of you interested in growth of the global Internet might find useful
the Excel Spreadsheet on the present Internet Society secretariat host machine:

<cnri.reston.va.us> \isoc\charts\93--ctry.xls

Derived from the December 1992 and December 1993 country statistics produced
by Merit for the National Science Foundation, it portrays by region and
country the networks, monthly traffic from countries into and out of the
NSFNet backbone, and the annual growth rates for each.

This chart and much more will be in the Internet Society News Magazine's
special end of the year issue on "A Year in the Life of the Internet: 1993
and Looking Toward 1994" Most fascinating are the short articles by noted
Internet authorities in different countries, regions, application areas,
operations, and organizations around the globe. 1993 was incredible
worldwide, but the best is yet to come!

The issue will also contain advertisements and receive widespread
distribution by providers, so it should be a ubiquitous collector's item.
It's being put to bed in the next few days. Please contact Cynthia Matthews
at <isoc@isoc.org> for information.
