When a technology becomes embedded in daily life, it has truly become
successful.
Consider the first sentences from the opening paragraph of the review
of a new book about the painter Kandinsky in today's New York Times
Book Review (by S. Frederick Starr, President of Oberlin College):
For artists, the road to canonization is paved with
learned articles and monographs. By this measure,
Wassily Kandisky (1866-1944) already scores high.
Through Internet, I found the titles of 608 publications
on this pioneer Russian abstractionist, putting him
behind Cezanne with 1,264 and far ahead of Malevich
