Oh, you know, with electronic communications everything is just
*different*...because...well, it just *is*.
half-smiley.
I think I'd prefer to hear the opinions of the principals rather than
people guessing at this early date what their opinions on the matter
might be.
Third-hand we're now to the point that some have concluded they're all
a bunch of trogs who can't figure out how to get a mailbox for just
their publicly visible e-mail and deal with that somehow, or resist
trying. I don't think that's quite fair either.
Ross, in all fairness to the people you might appear to speaking for,
do you know any of this is true, or are you just guessing?
It seems to me if Mitch Kapor and Steve Wolff (to name two) can deal
with having an easily discovered e-mail address then any of these
other people can also.
It would also seem to me that someone like John Scully might be able
to come up with the ideas of staff, delegation, and all that rot w/o
being mesmerized by the medium.
The dirty little truth is that people *don't* in fact send a whole lot
of e-mail blind, except perhaps to the president@white.house.gov and
vice-president@white.house.gov addresses, and I doubt it's a big deal
in reality.
And I wouldn't worry all that much about every K12'er e-mailing the
NII committee because until something is accomplished EVERY K12'ER
DOESN'T HAVE ACCESS TO E-MAIL!
I feel better now.
