I think it would be quite reasonable for the ISOC to do mosaic style
online journals (like GNN). I think the ISOC would also do well by
encouraging others to do the same.
Bob:
I agree that on-line journals are a good thing. Personally, I'd
encourage ISOC to help other societies make on-line journals happen. I
know ACM, IEEE and Elsevier are both struggling to find a ways to make
their journals more accessible. One problem is finding ways to avoid
losing revenues. If ISOC could help that would be great. But I'd like to
yet another suite of journals just because that's what professional societies
do.
