It is with great pleasure that I announce the reactivation of The Maloff
Company, a consulting and advisory organization emphasizing the business
implications of advanced telecommunications techniques - especially the
Internet and its associated new approaches to wide area data networking.
For the past five years, I have been active within the Internet community,
first as Executive Director of CICNet ( the Big Ten universities network),
and for the past three years, as Vice President-Client Services for Advanced
Network & Services (ANS). As of January 1, 1994, I am no longer affiliated
with ANS or ANS CO+RE.
I have retained the knowledge and experiences gained in the
telecommunications industry prior to my immersion in the Internet, including
fiber optic transport services and premises systems. By combining this
background with experiences gained in the Internet community, I am able to
approach "internetworking" from a variety of perspectives.
I intend to build The Maloff Company into the premier consulting organization
for business "internetworking" applications and deployment. Some of the areas
that we expect to provide advice and consultation on include:
* Understanding what the Internet offers in "non-techie" terms
*Identifying specific business applications for "internetworking"
*Determining specific, quantifiable business benefits for using the
Internet
*Recognizing costs and trade-offs associated with "internetworking"
*Evaluation of alternative approaches and vendors of Wide Area
Networking services
*Incorporation of the Internet into your service offerings
