I finally got to read the article.

It is a well balanced article.

Only one "leap" in the article, concerning the CIX as an alternative to 
the NSFNet during a failure like "the Worm".  Don't know where that came from.

Probably the most depressing part was the followon "box" deliniating all 
of the US "Public Data Networks".  No mention of 
Alternet/PSINet/Cerfnet/ANSNet just Sprint/Infonet/GEIS etc.  But they 
weren't mentioned in the article either.
