A nice way of putting it.
On a related vein, I've been talking with people a lot about how
civic/community information services relate to cable/telco upgrade
plans. I've been using the analogy that public spaces work a lot better
as the center of a town, than does a mall. As the Internet grows, and
more of it becomes commercial, I keep worrying about how to keep the
"public spaces" at the core of network interactions.
