TERN will be **really** experimental, and not suited to be a user of the
NREN. The organisers want students to be able to run a variety of
protocols, to insert artificial delays, to take the net up and down, to
farble the packet switches in real time - in short to do all the things that
make sound pedagogical sense to **teach** networking, but which are
antithetical to what the the NREN is all about: the provision of stable,
reliable, production service. -s
