The creation of MX records in the Internet DNS (domain name service) would
allow Internet users to send mail to Milnet users without requiring hack
address forms such as user%host@relay.mil.
This is a standard feature of the DNS and is considered essential in most
parts of the Internet, with Milnet being the most noticed exception.
You don't need control of outside Internet name servers in order to
implement the MX feature. You simply need to add a entries to the name
servers you already have:
