I market a research and reference tool called the Blue Pages of Law
Enforcement, and am interested in guidelines, suggestions, warnings, etc.
regarding marketing on the internet. (The Blue Pages contain name, address,
phone, population served, and number of commissioned officers for every
law enforcement agency in the nation.)
I'm already aware of NSFnet policy, and am revewing USEnet, BITnet and
others. However, I support commercialization of the net, and want to be
able to market to individuals without invading thier privacy.
Experimenting, I have dropped a "hook" onto LISTservs that mentions what
the product is, but without sale info. Interested individuals then mail
me directly requesting information, and I send them a single page ad.
I am preparing a switch to a .com and am interested in suggestions for
where and with who at what price. I don't wish to abuse my .edu account.
I need phone in access as well as direct internet access on ethernet.
Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
Sincerely,
