The National Observer, the old Saturday Review, the old New Yorker, are 
all examples of fine periodicals which the marketplace could not support. 
The marketplace determines what sells, not (necessarily) what is good.

Still, I agree with the point, the place for demonstrations of this sort 
*is* the marketplace.
