Emotions do run high here, don't they.?

According to Chris Locke on 11-16-93,
>and I'll be damned if I will let the insinuations it
>conveys to this community stand without comment

It's one thing to get into a good discussion about products' merits and
drawbacks at a technical level. It's quite another to turn it into a
mud-slinging debate.

I, for one, would love to see a discussion between these two editors (Chris
and Michael) about how to best cover the topic of commercialization of the
Internet. I'd also like to see them post some of their opinions here (I
commend Gordon Cooke for the excerpts he shares with us... I may not agree,
but I find them quite thought-provoking).

As for Michael's comment...
>Success is always imitated, but why should you settle
>for smaller, more expensive products?

I don't see any insinuations here. The fact of the matter is that CMP's
publication *is* smaller and more expensive. You can't argue about that,
Chris. But you two could argue the technical merit of the publications, as I
suggested above.

Last, but not least, I may not agree with the wording Michael uses to promote
his publication, but I was surprised and impressed by his reaction a few
weeks ago. If you will recall, some insults were hurled his way about his
"Advertising on the Internet" publication promotion. Rather than get online
and tell me he'll "be damned", he let it ride it's course and we ended up
with a fascinating discussion on advertising.
