Go read Ed Krol's Internet column in Network World, Nov 8. 1993.
I'll let him make the case for it, but his conclusion is "... we need
to get rid of the restrictions on use. To do that, we need to get
the governmen tout of the networking business and allow businesses
that are not subject to government accounting rules to provide those
services".
