I am happy to hear the address/mask routing scheme used in the NSFNET
Phase-I Backbone during 1986-1988 has been rediscovered. In my memoirs
I will reveal some marvelous mischief accomplished using that scheme,
like ARPANET addresses that showed up at some unlikely spots far
removed from the IMPs. The scheme lurks only a gated from you in the
Hello protocol, but most have already said Goodbye to that.
