ANSI registration of OSI names

MTR's response as to what registering with ANSI "buys" (or better yet - costs)
you is correct.  So for $2500 you get an alphanumeric OSI Org name and 
number (the org here is not the same as the ORG used in either X.500 or
X.400) and you get to decide what to bind it to (ie. what to use it for -
eg. a PRMD in X.400 or an ORG name in a RDN for X.500).  Since ANSI wil not
register a name that collides with an existing registered name (don't forget
Marshal's note about challenges ) it can at least be used as a NATIONAL pool of
names for X.400, X.500, PEM etc. if we choose.
