Well you guys and gals are all awake still over there so here is
something to think about for the long weekend (tomorrow's
a holiday here :- ). This is probably a dumb idea and lots
of people will probably tell me it's stupid because we'd
have to change all the routers/software etc. ad nauseam.
I cannot say I've looked at the implications before but....
But what about *extending* the present four octet IP
address to say six octets - can it be done in a controlled
way - in case there are no more addresses available - or
will we all be using something else by then anyway ?
It's just an idea - probably too silly to be obviously
a good one.
