I understand the utility of advertising to disseminate information, but
I'm also g*d-d*mned if I'm going to accept bulk junk e-mail.
I've always taken the view that there ought to be a modest number of mailing
lists that accepted advertising on given topics. So (using netnews terminology)
ad.workstations
would take workstation adverts. The point is that mailing an ad anywhere
else would be a violation, so my mailbox is protected, but if I care about
workstation information, I know where to look.
