This situation gets even murkyer if NYU is like many a kind university
and provides gratis UUCP connections to others big and small in the community
What if company/concern/organization X drops their mail off at your door step
and as you kindly forward their mail on its merry way it crosses the NSF/ANS
schizophrenic backbone -- who's personality applies?

How did Eric Allman embed this flexibility? He used a variation on Post
Productions as address rewriting rules. If he hadn't taken a theory course,
none of us would have sendmail today."
