What I've heard about Information Lens sounds really good; can
you provide a reference to some publications where i can get
more details?
A limitation of what I have seen is that Lens relies a lot on
people voluntarily adding a predictable, easily parsable structure
to at least a portion of each message they send. (Tools are
provided to ease the burden of getting all the headers right.)
Filtering through megabytes of netnews per day has to have a lot
of tolerance for looking for information in odd or unusual ways,
since a lot of the things you may want to find are only partially
specified and certainly not rigidly formatted.
