As a part of the outreach goals of Oregon State University
as a Land Grant institution, I am looking for ways to connect up
Oregon K12 schools to the internet.
What steps can I take that will move this process along?
Is there someone at NSF that is helping to coordinate k12
connections to the network?
Is there funding to help start pilot projects to show what
can be achieved with an internet connection?
Is there any study being made that shows the differences
between a mail/news only site and a telnet/IP based site
in terms of value to the students?
Are the projects set up to train K12 teachers on how to use
the internet? If not, is the money to run classes/ workshops
on this area?
I am ready and willing to start working to move Oregon
k12 schools onto the internet, but I am short of resources to
do it. Does anyone have any pointers on where I can find
resources, or other people who are already doing this kind of thing?
