I'll disagree somewhat. I don't believe the problem is anything evil
per se (which seems to be your message.)
I think it's more like the road to hell was paved with good
intentions. In most cases, very good intentions. I really believe that
(and witnessed it over the past decade or so.) "Hell" is a too strong
word, but that's the aphorism.
Look at the phone system. Hardly any lack of greed and politics in
that arena. Yet, it works (certainly doesn't present the problem with
mere connectivity.)
