Peter - thanks for your suggestion. You say that MERIT has a story to
tell that I would understand if I just took up their invitation to visit.
Many things would make this a difficult proposition between now and the
end of April. I *AM* a good listener. Mark could telephone me or he
could send me more private mail. My ears and mind are open.
There is also this list. I am sure that MERITs point of view would be of
interest to the list as a whole. I'd welcome an explanation from them to
the list - point by point - of the questions you raised.
I don't have your message in front of me - but from memory you said that
they could begin to migrate away from the proprietary routers except that
the pasky software base would slow this migration down? Do i remember the
gist accurately? It would be interesting to hear what that pesky software
base is all about and what a migration schedule to other routers would
look like.
