I hadn't any problems with Brian's announcement, either. Coincidentally (?),
McGraw-Hill were in my office just last week, wondering about Internet
access and what it might do for them. I was particularly struck by their
remark that they **already** derive 30% of their income from electronic
publishing.
I tried to convince them that Internet access would be a Good Thing, that if
they are already running bboards and dial-ins they will not incur any
*substantial* increase in risk of, or exposure to, what-not on their big blue
mainframes, and that they stand to gain substantial new business if they
would only put an index to their publications up for free access by
anonymous ftp where WAIS and other knowbots could get at it.
