'Building Information Infrastructure' looks like a good compendium
of essays (I presume growing out of the Harvarad Sch of Govt NREN
conference of 2 years ago) for - as the ad says '...as an aid to
planning and policy development at local, state, and national levels'
I'll get it, though I am a little unclear on just how the
access of the pieces from the Primis database works. As a benefit
of buying the hardcopy, or added, or what?
Since I am an advisor, both for policy and technical matters, to
local and state governments, I can use such material. Although
I must hasten to add, I will add a seperate NREN Policy/Issues
paper by Dr. Gordon Cook, recently of OTA, for in 35 pages it
paints a very tough picture on the question of - as the subtitle
says 'Whom Shall It [NREN] Serve?' I would not want any government
decision making bodies I advise not to go into post-Internet
telecommunications without their eyes wide open to the issues
swirling around this topic in Washington, and corporate board
rooms. These issues are neither simple, nor settled.
