Especially to readers of com-priv who may be interested in hearing
Dr. Gordon Cook speak on the NREN, who'd like to meet him, and who
are or may be within an easy commute of Harvard and MIT, this week:
Gordon delivers his paper on the NREN at Harvard's Science Center A,
on Tuesday (3 March) at 4pm.
For the balance of the week he's a guest of The MIT Entrepreneurs Club,
where we are organising a series of informal talks and meetings
on the NREN and related network subjects.
Some meetings and panels will focus on Gordon's upcoming trip to
Moscow, when he may also deliver-by-hand, a formal invitation
to Russian students of engineering and the sciences to help us launch
the MIT Entreprenuers Club Moscow Office. Our premier activity
shall be a parallel $10k (US dollars) Student Competition much like
the annual MIT campus-based version when we award nearly $20k
(10k being the first prize) to students with 'best new business start-up
ideas with attached real-world market research and business plans'
which we'd like to conduct next year with teams made up of students
from both countries.
Naturally, communications between students over the Internet in all
modes is what's going to make such a collaborative project more
probable initially and certainly more fun than "dumb" faxes.
